Literature Text

When you look into that reflective piece of glass,
A stranger's face stares back, distorted and
Mashed with a mingle of facial features.
The stranger's identity unknown, unsolved.
Your arm is outstretched, and flattens against
The monster in the mirror.
Sparks flair from the glass as it shatters,
Clinking and rattling soft as the Spring season's
Wind, before crashing hastily on the concrete below
You feet.  Blood flows slightly out of a
Gash in your hand.
The world spins as you stumble barefoot
Around your enclosed room, light seeming to dim
Until it ceases to exist.
Then, a heavy steel door opens, light pouring in
Brilliantly as your skin soaks it up.
And then, pacing out of the cell you
Were held in, you collapse in a heap.
No more than a pile of collective thoughts
And unshared ideas.
